Task 2:
Take A Career Interest Inventory

No one want to work in an occupation that they dislike, but how can you determine what career is right for you?

A good place to begin is by taking a Career Interest Inventory. This is a test that attempts to match your personality and interests with a specific work environment and/or career.

In this portion of the career exploration webquest, you are to....

  1. Access a on-line Career Interest Inventory .
  2. Answer the Career Interest Inventory questions completely. If necessary, you may print out the questions.
  3. Print out the results of the inventory. Do not forget to put your print-outs in your career exploration folder.
  4. Repeat the steps 1 and 4, using another Career Interest Inventory .

Once you have obtained the results of at least two career interest inventories, print out a Suggested Career Worksheet . On this sheet you will list at least ten jobs that the interest inventories recommended for you. WARNING: Be choosy, do not write down every job indicated - even computerized inventories make mistakes. Make sure the job suggested actually reflects your personal likes and dislikes as well as interest you in some way.

When you are finished making a list of possible careers, review the list and place an asterik by the three jobs that interest you the most.

Put the career list in your folder and proceed to task 3 .
